Quick & Easy 45 minute Pizza Dough

How many of us have spent too long and too much money buying nasty, flavourless pizza bases from the grocery store because we didn't realise fluffy, delicious pizza dough was so easy to make? I know I did. As soon as I realised how easy pizza dough is to make by hand, it's become a weekly staple in our household. Find the recipe below, and please let me know if you try it out! Yields: 4 pizzas worth of dough Preparation time: 15 minutes Rest time: 30 minutes

Ingredients: Utensils:

1 1/2 cups of warm water Measuring cups & teaspoons Sprinkle of sugar (plain white will do) 2 large bowls

2 tsp dried yeast Surface for kneading (a large wooden

4 cups plain flour chopping board works well for this)

1 tsp salt Mixing spoon

1/4 cup olive oil Rolling pin

Extra flour for dusting Tea towel

Extra olive oil for brushing Pizza trays (or normal oven trays)


  1. Place sprinkle of sugar in warm water, then add dried yeast. Set aside to become foamy (5-10 minutes).

  2. Mix plain flour with sale in a large mixing bowl

  3. Make a well in the centre of the flour/salt mixture

  4. Add the yeast mixture (once foamy) and olive oil

  5. Use a mixing spoon to mix thoroughly until combined

  6. Form dough into a ball

  7. Brush a second bowl lightly with oil

  8. Knead dough on a lightly floured surface for 10 minutes, until smooth

  9. Place dough in oiled bowl, turning once to cover full in oil

  10. Cover with a tea towel and set aside in a warm, draught-free location to rise for 30 minutes

  11. Dust work surface with flour

  12. Knead dough & form a long cylinder

  13. Divide into either fourths or eighths (depending if you want large pizzas or smaller, kid size pizzas)

  14. Cover in your favourite pizza toppings & bake

  15. Enjoy!
